well i wasnt going to say that camping and poddin everything in sight is a reasonable action. it is not considered a self-defense BUT when players wander off into 0.0 zones where other players do their own things in secrecy, certainly you dont want to be disturbing them. you'd do the same if you were strip mining Arkonor and some other player decided to come and spy on the location so he/she can later come with better forces and spook you away from your belt. All i am saying is that if you dont want to get podded dont go to 0.0 zones and even if you do please be careful and plot your route in advance. Cool

so territorial actions? fair enough, as long as you give them a warning and a chance to leave peacefully, instead of sending them straight to hell as soon as they drop out of warp. if they don't comply with your request, i'd say it's more than reasonable to send them packing, as long as both parties involved know the consequences of both their actions.

In case you didnt notice there, MR. 'doesnt live in the real eve world' Most people dont stop and chat when they come to a jumpgate. If they run for it, then they know they are running a blocade and shouldn't be there... Come on, man, people arn't that sutpid. You come out of warp and theres more then two ships there, you know your had. If you run, your essentially telling the people at the gate to F*@# off. To me that's fair game.

If people would stop and chat, I'm absolutey certain that players getting killed would go dow significantly in most regions of space.

I can honestly say I have NEVER seen anyone out in 0.0 space that didnt know they were taking a chance on invading claimed territory.

For every 1 true innocent, there are hundreds of people that know better weather they admit it or not.

Where in my post did I mention jump gates? In my first post I stated that random gate camping, "controlling" 0.0 space IS a pirate activity. My previous post was in response to the idea of protecting mining rights.

If you would kindly remove your head from your "high and mighty" arse, and read the whole thread, I might consider debating this issue further.

And "the real world of eve" is a contradiction in terms.
